Rare large Chinese twin handled archaic bronze rectangular ritual food vessel fang ding. Probably late shang/early western zhou dynasty luoyang decorated with bands of motifs & taotie masks. Similar findings in The Freer Sackler gallery Washington DC accession No S1987.305. A second example inlaid with block pigment from the collection of Florence K Sloane 1950 is on view at The Hertage Museum Norfolk Virginia No 1950-0001.01 (50 G-1) which is known to have been excavated in 1929 near the city of Luoyang north eastern China - Approx height: 46cm
